Chal Nakhjir Cave is located in Markazi province about ten kilometers east of Delijan and at the foot of a low mountain. The access route to this cave is through Delijan to Naraq road.
Chal Nakhjir Cave is a living limestone cave. That is, beautiful calcareous sediments are forming in it continuously.
Chal Nakhjir cave has a long depth that is said to have been discovered about 12 km of it. Along this long route, there are beautiful halls and paths, which, of course, have been closed to tourists to preserve this precious natural phenomenon.
Ordinary tourists are only allowed to visit the first kilometer of this cave. This amount of cave route is easy to walk because most of the route in the cave corridors have relatively flat surface. This section of cave has been lighted with colorful lightings.
In the lower floor of this cave, there is an underground lake of fresh water. Because water of this underground lake is used as a drinking water reservoir of Delijan, visiting this lake is also prohibited for tourists.
In fact, the discovery of Chal Nakhjir Cave in 1987 followed the pursuit of the Delijan Water Organization to supply drinking water to Delijan.
