In a one-day cycling program we cycled along the Zayandeh River from Isfahan to Zarrinshahr city.
In this route, we passed Baba Mahmoud historical bridge, Dargan village, Qaleh Bozi mountain and Nekoo Abad regulation dam.
Baba Mahmoud Bridge: Two kilometers from Pirbakran city in Falavarjan region of Isfahan, there is a historical bridge with a history of more than seven hundred years on the Zayandeh River, which was built during the Mongol dynasty, ie during the reign of Sultan Mohammad Khodabandeh (Oljaito).
Qaleh Bozi Mountain: On the banks of Zayandeh River in Pir Bakran and Mobarakeh region, there is a mountain called Qaleh Bozi. In the heights of this mountain, there are two historical castles belonging to the Sassanid period. There is also a cave in this part of the mountain, the traces inside of which date back to 40,000 years ago pertaining to Paleolithic era.
In the village of Nekoo Abad, a regulating dam has been built on the Zayandeh Rud River to transfer Zayandeh Rud water through canals to the Mobarakeh Steel factory as well as to agricultural canals. For this reason, in water shortage periods, the bed of Zayandeh River becomes dry after this dam.
