Gandum Beryan region is located in the north of Shahdad desert or west of Lut desert and in the northeast side of Kerman city and east of Ravar mountains of Kerman.
Gandom Beryan is the part of the western margin of the Lut Desert that is covered with volcanic black rocks. These rocks, which are made of basalt and have strange shapes, cover an area of 13 by 12 km in a flat and high area on the western edge of the central Lut Desert.
In the western and southern margins of Gandum Beryan region, Shoor river (Kal Shoor) flows from Ravar mountains of Kerman and enters Lut Desert. It cuts the Lut (Lut Desert) and goes to the central hole of the Lut Desert to settle in the salt marshes of that area.
To access the Gandum Beryan area, you must first come from Kerman to Shahdad Road to Nehbandan. 40 km after passing Shahdad town, you should enter to the left and move 35 km in the desert to reach Shoor river. The area of Gandum Beryan on the other side of the Shoor River is located at an altitude of about 120 meters compared to the surrounding areas.
It has been said that for some years, the area of Gandum Beryan has been recorded as the hottest spot on Earth. The best season to visit Gandum Beryan area is in autumn and winter. Note that for visiting Gandom Beryan region you should go with a guide or GPS and bring adequate water and food.
