Hormoz town is the only settlement on Hormoz Island. Hormoz town is located right at the northern tip of Hormoz Island. This town has its own special attractions that are not limited to the natural attractions of Hormoz Island.
Except for the historic Portuguese fort, which is located on the outskirts of Hormoz town, the most important and attractive feature of Hormoz town is the art of women in this city, which is mainly expressed in the form of paintings.
The women of Hormoz Island attract attention with their colorful clothes. The handicraft art of these Hormozi ladies is wonderful. In a few minutes, the most beautiful and delicate paintings are painted with henna on the hands and feet of tourists. Using the colored soils of the island, they create the most beautiful patterns on the glass. Also they have the art of needlework and working on fabric. Finally, they offer their handicrafts for sale to tourists. The colored soils of the island are also placed in glass bottles in various colored layers for tourists to buy and take as souvenirs.
From the Hormoz pier, when you enter the small town of Hormoz at the very beginning, a small building with beautiful murals attract your attention. This is Jerry Pulak Historical House. Then, next to the Portuguese castle, you will see women from the island presenting their works of art on a table in front of them while wearing beautiful and colorful local clothes. A painting behind glass is one of these works of art.
In an alley inside the city of Hormoz, you see the museum of Dr. Ahmad Nadalian, which is also a center for painting education and a workshop for Hormoz women. Dr. Ahmad Nadalian, who has a PhD in painting philosophy and environmental painting from England, has been living in Hormoz for many years to teach painting to Hormoz women and help them create jobs.
The beauty of the art of Hormoz women and the beauty of Dr. Nadalian’s services in this region are a good complement to the beauty of the nature of Hormoz Island.
