Dorfak mountain is located at an altitude of 2733 meters above sea level in Gilan province. Dorfak is a dormant volcanic mountain and at the top there is a large and circular hollow area, which is the volcanic bowl of the mountain. There is also a cave in this mountain peak, which has a natural glacier in it in all seasons of the year. The herdsmen and nomads who live in the Dorfak peak bowl in summer use the snow and ice inside this cave to store their drinking water.
