Sorkh Roud is a town in Mazandaran province near the Caspian Sea in the vicinity of the River Haraz. Sorkh Roud is located near Fereydounkenar city.
In the vicinity of the Sorkh Roud, there are relatively large wetlands which are the place for migratory swans which come from the northern regions in the winter. Other species of immigrant birds are also landed for feeding to farms and wetlands in the south of Sorkh Roud and Fereydunkenar. Unfortunately, a large number of these immigrant birds are hunted by unauthorized nets that farmers spread on the farms. But the community of wild swans in the wetlands near Sorkh Roud is protected and considered as a tourist attraction for this region.
