Kul Genoon with a height of 3,850 meters is the easternmost peak on the Oshtorankouh ridge in Azna region in Lorestan province. Climbing this peak in winter requires sufficient skills in the field of mountaineering and climbing (careful selection of the correct return route requires high accuracy and the use of GPS) and also due to the large glaciers on the way, the climber must have sufficient mastery of snow and ice climbing techniques.
Kul Genoon refuge is built at an approximate height of 3028 meters on the northern slopes of Kul Genoon. The most common route to reach the peak of Kul Genoon is the route that starts from Kamandan village and reaches the peak by passing beside the shelter. This path is called Shast-e Khoda (The thumb of god).
