Laton Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iran in a mountainous forest nature in Astara county, Gilan province.
A very high waterfall that falls down in the heart of mountain forests to cross a path with beautiful boulders, fall down from another height and continue its path in the heart of the forests of Lavandvil region of Gilan.
Laton Waterfall with a height of 105 meters is the tallest waterfall in Iran. The second fall of the waterfall in the heart of the region’s forests also creates another waterfall 65 meters high.
Laton Waterfall falls from a river in the forests above the falls. The forested heights in this area, while stunningly beautiful, are also eerie, and navigating the route is somewhat risky and requires caution.
At the bottom of the waterfall, there is a cottage and a coffee house where you do not feel alone in this strange and forested nature. You can rent a roommate for sleep and rest from the kind old coffee man.
The usual access route to Laton Waterfall is from Lavandvil town on the Talesh Road to Astara, from where you have to switch to Koteh Komeh village.
From Koteh Komeh, which also has a spa, the trail to Laton Waterfall is clear, part of which can be reached by car. Of course, my advice is to walk the whole route to the waterfall, if possible, which of course takes about five hours.
