Right near Assaluyeh and in the south of this coastal city, a part of the land has advanced into the waters of the Persian Gulf, which is called Nayband Cape.
This promontory has created a bay in the southern part of Assaluyeh, which is called Nayband Gulf.
The eastern and southern shores of Nayband Gulf are covered with mangrove forests, home to migratory birds such as flamingos and pelicans.
During our trip in late January, we saw the beautiful view of mangrove forests on the southern shore of Nayband Gulf. These ponds are filled and emptied of water at the same time as the tides. Birds such as flamingos and herons were also seen in the trees in the area.
Two species of sea turtles also come to the shores of Nayband Bay to spawn.
The existence of mangrove forests and various species of animals in this area has caused Nayband Gulf to be declared a protected area and national park, and to be named Nayband National Marine Park.
The Persian Gulf International Airport is also located near Nayband Bay.
