San Boran peak with a height of 4150 meters above sea level is the highest peak of Oshtrankooh mountain range. Oshtrankooh mountain range is a part of Zagros mountain range which is located in the area between Dorud and Aligudarz.
The northern front of this mountain is used to climb the peak of Oshtrankooh. For this purpose, they go to Darband village, between Azna and Dorud cities, and then to Tian village, and from there they start climbing San Boran peak. Along the ascent route, Gol Gol shelter is located at an altitude of 2700 meters and Chal Kaboud refuge is located at an altitude of 3650 meters.
Winter climbing to the San Boran and the other peaks of Oshtrankooh is difficult and dangerous, due to the cold and snow, and requires sufficient skills and equipment.
