Junqan is a town in Farsan county, Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province. This town is located 40 km southwest of Shahrekord. The inhabitants of Junqan are both Qashqai Turks and Bakhtiaris.
The khans of this region of Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari became known as Assad Bakhtiari during the constitutional period. The beginning of the uprising and the movement of Bakhtiari tribes to occupy Isfahan and Tehran during the constitutional uprisings began from Junqan.
At the end of the Qajar period, Sardar Asaad Bakhtiari built a palace in the style of French palaces in the area of a large garden in Junqan. the main building of the palace and part of the garden is still standing and is registered as a national monument Now this palace is used as a constitutionalism and anthropology museum.
