The peak of Shahan Kooh with an altitude of 4040 meters above sea level is located 20 km southwest of Fereydunshahr. Shahan Kooh peak is located on the ridge of a mountain range with the same name. Shahan Kooh mountain range is more than 43 km long, which is in the general direction along the main axis of the Zagros, ie northwest-southeast. Shahan Kooh peak is the highest peak in Isfahan province. There is no shelter on the way to this peak.
The most common route to climb Shahan Kooh peak is the eastern route that starts from Sardab Bala village. There is a beautiful spring and river near this village, that is named Baba Ahmad promenade.
