Attractions of Kurdistan
Kurdistan province is in western Iran and adjacent to Iraqi Kurdistan. The people of Kurdistan are Kurdish and generally Sunni.
Kurdistan is located in a semi-mountainous region of Alborz mountain range and Shahu mountain range is one of the highest and most significant heights of this province. The Sirvan River is also a long and water-rich river in this province, which eventually enters Iraq and flows into the Tigris River. Numerous dams have been built on the Sirvan River both in Iran and in Iraq. Darian Dam is one of the newest and largest dams that has been built on the Sirvan River in the Paveh section and has created a long and beautiful lake behind this dam. The famous and very watery spring of Bell flows into this lake near the village of Nav. Beautiful and diverse oak forests are other natural features of Kurdistan province.
Uraman region of Kurdistan is one of the most beautiful regions of the country in terms of natural landscapes and tourist villages.
