Manjil is one of the most populous cities of Rudbar county in Gilan province.
Manjil is located next to Sepid Rud River and a dam that has been built on this river. Therefore, the view of Sepid Rud Dam Lake adds to the beauty of Manjil. In Manjil, there is a lot of wind in all seasons. The reason for this intense air flow is the intersection of the semi-arid climate with the humid Caspian climate in this region. In fact, Manjil is located at the mouth of a corridor that opens from the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains towards Caspian Sea. This climate also contributes to the quasi-Mediterranean features of Manjil, leading to the growth of cypress forests on the hills of the region and the cultivation of olive groves in the villages.
Due to the strong and constant wind in Manjil, a large number of wind turbines have been installed to generate electricity in the hills around the city.
The Inhabitants of Manjil are Gilak (Native of Gilan).
