The northeastern front of Damavand is perhaps the most beautiful way to climb Damavand Peak. This is due to the existence of beautiful plains and also a plain called Sabzeh Lash in the middle of the ascent route that a beautiful view of the cloudy sea can be seen in the valleys below this plain.
Another beauty of the northeastern route of Damavand ascent is crossing the valley and the huge ice of Yakhar, which has a very beautiful view similar to the Himalayan mountains.
The shelter of Takht-e Fereydoun is located at an altitude of 4400 meters on the northeastern front. The large Damavand camp has also been set up near the shelter, which is a private camp for mountaineers.
To climb the northeastern route of Damavand, you must first come to Nandal village via Haraz road. Then, by a vehicle, reach the higher altitudes called Gardandeh Sar, and from there start your journey to climb Damavand. It takes about six hours to climb from Gardaneh Sar to the shelter of Takht Fereydoun. You can spend the night in Takht-e Fereydoun shelter or in Damavand camp or in Sabzeh Lash plain which is located at lower altitudes than Takht Fereydoun shelter.
The ascent from Takht-e Fereydoun Shelter to the 5610-meter peak of Damavand takes about six hours, and along the way you will pass the heights overlooking the huge and eerie valley and glacier of Yakhar.
